FlavCity Egg Bites – Easy Keto Breakfast Ideas
Bobby Parrish shows us how to make a Starbucks favorite, but make it Keto and much cheaper. These FlavCity Egg Bites tastes even better than the ones you would buy and are low carb and Keto friendly.
So for this Keto meal prepping we will be making creamy and custardy Egg Bites mixed with Gruyère cheese and bacon and then baked in the oven until soft and golden brown.
We start making the FlavCity Egg Bites by cracking in five eggs into the blender. Next up grab four tablespoons of cottage cheese and add it to the eggs in the blender. Now grab some Gruyère cheese (if you can’t find it use some Swiss Cheese) and grate half a cup and add to the blender. For some spices add a quarter teaspoon of Kosher salt as well as a few cracks of black pepper.
Put on the lid and and blend on high for about 20 to 30 seconds. You want it to be light and airy and nice and bubbly on the top.
Because we want them to look like the ones over at Starbucks we will take a muffin tray and spray it with some non-stick spray. This is important if you want to make sure they come out afterwards. Fill up the muffin tin to almost all the way to the top. Should fill up about 6 muffin casings.
Take up 2 pieces of bacon that is already cooked, chop it up, and then sprinkle it on the top of each little egg bite. Time for cooking these breakfast bites now. Bobby has a simple hack to make sure they are cooked perfectly.
Place a big pan with water on the bottom of an oven pre-heated to 300 degrees. This pan of water is called a water bath. This will create a humid moist environment which will allow the eggs to cook evenly but also cook through at the same time.
Place the muffin tray with the bites in the oven and cook for 30 minutes. After the thirty minutes take them out and allow them to cool for a bit. Now just pop them out and place them upside down on a plate.
And there you have it. Looks absolutely scrumptious. The flavors are nutty, earthy, salty with a custardy texture. And the best part is that they are considerably cheaper than the ones you get at Starbucks.
